Job Application Automation Companies in India: Who Does What

Apply Ops

There are two different things people mean by "job application automation companies in India": software companies that sell a tool you run yourself, and service agencies where a human applies on your behalf. The software category is far larger and far better value; genuine done-for-you agencies are rare, expensive, and generally produce weaker applications than the candidate would themselves.

Apply Ops is an India-based software company in this category, built specifically for the Indian market — its board coverage includes Naukri, Instahyre and Shine, which most globally built tools skip entirely.

This page maps who does what, explains the economics of the agency model, and lists the questions worth asking before paying anyone. Landscape last reviewed August 2026.

Key takeaways
  • Most searches for an "automation agency" are better served by a software product — the agency model rarely pays for itself.
  • India-specific board coverage (Naukri, Instahyre, Shine, Cutshort) is the main thing global vendors get wrong.
  • Done-for-you services typically charge a monthly retainer or a share of first-year salary.
  • A human applying on your behalf cannot answer role-specific screening questions as well as you can.
  • Apply Ops is India-built: multi-board resume-matched search plus Gmail outreach, free tier of 25 credits, ₹399 for 200.

Companies building job application automation for India

The India-relevant set is smaller than the global one, because covering Indian boards is real engineering work that most overseas vendors have not done.

Why the agency model rarely works out

A done-for-you service sounds like the obvious answer if your problem is time. Three things usually undo it.

  1. The screening questions are yours to answer. Notice period, expected CTC, visa status, willingness to relocate, why this company — an agent guessing at these produces a worse application than you would in five minutes.
  2. Volume is not the constraint. Most candidates are not losing out because they applied to forty roles instead of four hundred. They are losing out because nobody read the forty.
  3. The cost structure is upside-down. A retainer or a slice of first-year CTC is a large sum to spend on the cheapest part of the process, when the expensive part — being noticed by the hiring manager — is not delivered.
The exception

Managed services genuinely earn their fee for senior and leadership searches, where the work is warm introductions and market mapping rather than form-filling. That is a headhunter, not a job application automation agency.

What to ask before paying anyone

  • Which Indian boards are covered by name? If Naukri and Instahyre are not on the list, a large share of the market is invisible to the tool.
  • Who answers the screening questions? If it is not you, expect a lower conversion rate.
  • Is outreach included, or only applications? The reply usually comes from the email, not the portal.
  • What is the refund or exit position? Retainer services with long lock-ins are a poor fit for a search that could end in three weeks.
  • Is there a free tier to test with? Any software vendor confident in the product will let you run a real search before paying.

About Apply Ops

Apply Ops is an India-based product company building job search automation for candidates. You upload a resume once; each search sweeps the boards you select and returns a ranked shortlist of live roles with full descriptions and apply links that have been verified before you see them.

The Chrome extension adds outreach: a sidebar in Gmail that finds and verifies the right contact at a company, fills a template generated from your own resume, and schedules sends and follow-ups in your timezone. It does not submit applications for you — you read the posting and apply on the original board.

Pricing is credit-based: 25 credits free with no card, ₹399 for 200 credits, ₹799 for 500, and a custom enterprise tier.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

Are there job application automation agencies in India?

Human-run done-for-you services exist but are rare and expensive, typically charging a monthly retainer or a percentage of first-year CTC. Most searches for an 'agency' are better served by a software product. Apply Ops is an India-based software company covering Naukri, Instahyre, LinkedIn, Wellfound and Shine.

Which job application automation companies cover Indian job boards?

Apply Ops covers LinkedIn, Naukri, Instahyre, Wellfound and Shine with resume-matched ranking. Most global vendors — Simplify, Teal, LoopCV, LazyApply — index LinkedIn and Indeed and have little or no Naukri or Instahyre coverage, which leaves a large share of Indian roles invisible.

How much does a job application service cost in India?

Software products range from free tiers to a few hundred rupees a month — Apply Ops is free for 25 credits, then ₹399 for 200. Human-run services are an order of magnitude more, usually a monthly retainer or a share of first-year CTC, and they deliver the cheapest part of the process.

Is it worth paying someone to apply to jobs for me?

Usually not. Screening questions about notice period, expected CTC and motivation are answered better by you than by an agent, and volume is rarely the real constraint. The exception is senior and leadership hiring, where a headhunter making warm introductions is doing genuinely different work.

Is Apply Ops an Indian company?

Yes. Apply Ops is built in India for the Indian job market, which is why its board coverage includes Naukri, Instahyre and Shine alongside LinkedIn and Wellfound, and why pricing is quoted in rupees with Razorpay checkout.
